Why Pursue a PA State Inspection License?

As of October 2023, the average hourly pay for an Automotive Inspector in Pennsylvania is $24.40 an hour.  Employment of automotive service technicians and mechanics is projected to grow over the next ten years.  Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.

SCTC's Auto Inspection Class Features

  • Quality Training- Our program features 11 hours of instruction and a one-hour written baseline exam and category exam.  Hands-on tactile testing for Categories I, II, and III will follow by individually scheduled appointments.
  • Affordable Tuition

$140 Includes instruction, binder and baseline exam

  • Category 1-$45
  • Category II-$45
  • Category III -$70
  • Retesting for category or tactile is charge per category cost
  • Flexible Scheduling-Evening classes available for working adults

Basic Welding Technology

Why Pursue a Career in Welding? |
Welders provide necessary services to various industries, including manufacturing, transportation, and infrastructure. Working in a high-demand field can be beneficial, as it guarantees stable employment and higher wages because the skills of the trade are highly valuable to employers.

A career in welding offers a steady, well-paying job with opportunity for advancement and financial security for the future.  Occupations in welding are predicted to grow almost 10% in the next 10 years, and the average welding salary in our area is nearly $41,000.

SCTC's Basic Welding Technology Program Features:

  • Quality Training- Our program features 116 hours of training.
  • Instruction- Our program features quality well-maintained equipment. Our instructors are experienced and knowledgeable and are genuinely interested in preparing you for today’s workforce.  Basic Welding Technology will cover safety, theory and metallurgy, basic measuring, blueprint reading, and weld symbols, handheld plasma and oxy-fuel, (manual cutting) MIG and FCAW.
  • Job Placement– Our welding graduates have secured employment at area business including 4 Guys, Center Rock Inc., Edgewood Welding and Fabrication, and Morocco Welding.
  • Affordable Tuition- $1,200
  • Flexible Scheduling-Classes are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 4:00-8:00 PM

ServSafe

Why complete a ServSafe certificate program?

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requires that every food service operation obtain a nationally recognized food protection certificate such as ServSafe. To receive and maintain certification, all individuals are required to pass a certification exam every five years.

  • Quality Training-our program features 8 hours of instruction
  • Instruction-our certified trainer offers in-person ServSafe training at SCTC. Special accommodations can be made if you would like to offer the program to employees at the jobsite.  Following the class, students must pass the exam with a score of 75% or higher to receive a certificate of completion.
  • Affordable Tuition-$150 fee includes textbook, one-day class, and exam.
  • Flexible Schedule-trainings may be completed in as little as one day (8 hours)
