Why Get Your Commercial Driver's License (CDL)?
A career in truck driving offers opportunities to work local delivery jobs or go “over-the-road” and travel across the United States. Many trucking companies offer various bonuses, attractive benefits packages, and retirement plans. Occupations in truck driving are predicted to grow over the next 10 years, and the average truck driver in our area earns nearly $50,000.
Quality Training - Our program features 175 hours (part-time program, 9 weeks)
Instruction - Our program features quality well-maintained equipment including two tractors with manual transmissions (= no restriction on license), box trailer and flatbed. Our small classes provide individual focus and use J.J. Keller & Associates curriculum to the ELDT requirements. SCTC Instructors take the students to the local DMV for the driving exam.
Affordable Tuition - $50 application fee, $5,500 tuition
Flexible Scheduling- Part-time daytime and evening hours more conducive for students who are working
Student Requirements-
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or high school equivalency
- Be able to obtain a valid PA Class A CDL driving permit
- Need a valid PA driver’s license and birth certificate to obtain a driving permit
- Need a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate and negative 10-panel drug screen
*Driving record is considered
